Blur
I find that blur in an image helps to tell a story. Whether its motion blur or an out of focus subject or background, blur can add a sense of calm wonder to a photograph.
Grain
Grain in a photograph adds a sense of nostalgia and a homey feeling to the moment captured. Especially when paired with warmer colors, grain can completely transform a photo.
Color/lack of
One of the most vital parts of a photograph is the colors or lack of colors. I pay close attention to what the image is trying portray and use color to bring that depiction to life.
